4 Things to Do in Clarksville This Weekend (July 25-26)

118th Annual Lone Oak Picnic
One of the region’s longest-running traditions is back for its 118th year. The Lone Oak Picnic runs Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Central Civitan Building, 275 Highway 13 in Cunningham. Admission and parking are both free, and you can grab pork and chicken barbecue while you’re there. The day features live music from the Back Lot Pickers, a silent auction, a car cruise-in, inflatables for the kids, and a new all-ages painting activity. It’s the kind of small-town gathering that gives the Cunningham and southwest Montgomery County area its charm, and a fun way to see the more rural side of our market.
PokeKon Fest
Calling all trainers. PokeKon Fest brings a full day of Pokemon fun to downtown Clarksville on Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Clarksville Riverview, 50 College Street. Expect collectibles, gaming, vendors, cosplay, and family-friendly entertainment, with free parking on site. Admission is $20, and kids under 11 get in free. It’s a fun excuse to explore the downtown riverfront district, one of the most walkable and fast-growing parts of the city.
Free Movie in the Park: Minecraft
Montgomery County Parks and Recreation is hosting a free outdoor showing of Minecraft on Saturday, July 25, at 7:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Park, 2910 Woodlawn Park Road. Bring lawn chairs and blankets, and plan to buy a snack or two on site. Clarksville’s park system is one of the things buyers consistently tell me they love, and a free family movie night under the stars is a perfect example of why.
Saturday Downtown Market
Round out your weekend with a morning stroll through the Downtown Market, held every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at 1 Market Square. Local farmers and artisans set up with fresh produce, prepared foods, and handmade goods. It’s free to browse, easy to bring the whole family, and a great way to experience the energy of downtown Clarksville on a summer weekend.
